Lecture For The Dog Poem by Beatrice Evans

Lecture For The Dog

Lecture For The Dog

Ok, Ok I have right to complain;
"Stop barking up the wrong trees
and leaving yellow stains on me mat,
what best friend does things like that?
well! listen mate this is where we're at

It's become the modern thing to do-
teaching dumb animals to use our loo,
so what I'm saying is, (right or wrong,)
to keep our communal bonding strong,
like, when you want to pee or poo,
call on me and if shove comes to push
I‘ll gladly teach you how to flush;
Or if paperwork becomes a chore
then to keep the skid-marks off the floor
I'll send you off alack and alas
to do the dirty on the grass.
