Legacy Poem by William Waterway

Legacy

The Elders contemplated their legacy
crumbling cities, war, and lost citizenry
for such is life at this time in history

'The children will gives us the answer, '
the Elders hoped and said,
'for children seek life over the dead.'

And, so, one day
a child dared to speak
pf life and world anew
and idea of change for a world askew

But, this idea the Elders did shun
'For what is known bu such a young one,
without life experience and proper education.'

Sic transit gloria mundi
Thus passes this world's glory
