Leila's Damnation Poem by Rania Hammoud

Leila's Damnation

Rating: 5.0

It was a pretty goodnight till a thunderbolt hit the sky above the spot where Leila was wandering. It happened, and Leila stumbled down on her knees frozen for good ever since. She could never get up on her feet once more.To many, she was not more than a cursed statue which they blasphemed, and for a poor one whom she intoxicated with her sly, tasty affections a night before her damnation, she was a luminous, holy, blessed shrine that he longed to gaze at a long time before, but not in that sense.Yet, the blame was shifted to him, for he was still unawaken of the gigantic dreams she promised to make true. The moment her news were announced, the women in Leila's country became frantic.None of them could stand still in her place. They almost lost their sanity at such a declaration. They were in a daze, confused, shaking, and hitting their heads against the tough ground in panic, frightened that their destiny would be shaped the same way as Leila's.But for the men in Leila's country, it was such a gorgeous moment, and it would had been an unrepeatable oppurtunity to exterminate all the brutal, immoral, unfaithful dyes presenting beauty and concealing misery.A group of freshly wounded men headed to Leila's spot whispering some cruel and fair expressions at her right.
“I'm gonna quench my blood's thirst tonight. “
“I'm gonna get back my soul out of her clay.“
“I'm gonna sweep the thorns she compensed my faith back and pin them to her hypocritic heart.“
At that time, the women in Leila's country were busy biting their hands and clearing their sins away with boiling water. From that time, fidelty became the emblem they would never let down.

The best way to view your idea about world scenario in few countries...But i think you will never loose a power even a woman play a basic role in modeling their own children, shaping the next generation...but nowadays women not only that, they can contribute something...i guess you have power to tell this. I see the hope in your poetic eyes, and i can see how it what you wanted... anyway the world need both men and women as they can play a same role, and to build harmony...nice and brave write, dont stop saying something from your heart Rania_Unwritten Soul
