Let Go Poem by Nicollette Washington

Let Go

Rating: 5.0

You were there when i needed you.
When i thought the ocean was the pool and believed robots were true.
Now I'm all grown up.
I'm ready to see the world. I have breast now, I'm a grown up girl.
You don't see that, you still see me as four.
But, I'm sixteen and I want to show everyone what i can do and more.
You held my hand my first day of school and left so they can teach.
But, now I'm stronger, the skies the limit, and theres nothing I can't reach.
If i want to sing and dance, I know that I can.
But that's not what i want to do, I already have my plan.
I'm bursting out into this world and doing my own thing.
Get ready, set, I just jumped off, and I'm flapping my own wings.
