Let Go Poem by Ashley Best

Let Go

Rating: 5.0

Let go of once was, and let in what is of now. The smell of burning wood or that touch of your brow. Take me to that place of calmness from the storm. Take me to that place away from all harm. Myself has died, my tears continued to be cried, my sins I can't hide. You are the perfection in me, shining the Christ for all to see. Empty me of any decay, strip me of the layers I want to go away. I sing to you Lord through praise, finding protection from you on these thickening days. I press on but only in the footprints You have made, this destiny in You I will not trade. My lattern in the forest, my blanket from the cold, my clay is in Your hands to mold. Let go of my thoughts and give it all away to Your name, everyday you cleanse me of my shame. The past is of dust and the future is not of our control, You are my rope that pulls me out of the deep hole. Flavoring winds, tear-filled eyes, when I see you facing me, the rest of the world is only a disguise.

The fears of my heart are flushed away every day by Your grace, I breathe in Your love as I walk, as I run, and as I rest, leaving behind shattered pieces of me, and finding replenishment in you.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

That was really beautiful. It's awesome to hear that you found God. In Him, everything can be made better, and in offering your life to Him, He can be your guide and your happiness. Awesome poem.
