Toddler, she prowls and crawls
Rises, balances and stands, no brawls
Learns within pen, body balancing too
stretching arms, as if some one taught her
No one taught how to keep balance
shifting center of gravity, but she does!
Out side pen, she crawls on freely
without barriers, she enjoys thoroughly
Goes exploring, of her own willfully
Learns exploration basics, sensibly
Comes across, the staircase and its step
To begin with, she keeps her hand atop
Lifts herself and brings one leg up
Shifting balance to other side by a tip
Now she brings the other leg too up
Holding on to the balustrade
Rises hanging on to rail, by both hands
Learns climbing steps too effortless
Lifts and keeps the leg on the stair next
Castes a looks back, happy, over her act
Wanting to clap, loses balance, in haste
explorer falls down, from two stairs height
Should that happen, nasty it could’ve been
Never it happened, no hullabaloo either
for I was right behind, caring and guiding
not interrupting her, in her willful pursuit

Children learn to steady and balance in course of time! We needn't teach them! Most of them are careful about each step! May be it is instinct that teaches them! This poem celebrating the growth of a child from toddler to one steadying herself/himself up is a timely write on Childrens Day!
