The ocean
She was teaming with life
Rocked to slumber by the moon,
As the rhythm of the tides give her rest
A choice maiden above all other maidens
Those in the waters and those who dwell on dry land,
owe their very lives to her generosity
It is not salt that burns your eyes
You have taken note of your abusers
They have raped the blue in your eyes
Slaughtering the majestic creatures
that were the jewels embedded in your crown
Still, the secrets that you hold in the deep,
undiscovered treasures both alive and inert,
find themselves junkyards of thanklessness,
from those who eat from your table
You are still beautiful to me,
Do not be afraid to hold back your rage,
unleash your anger to a proper degree,
perhaps some will take note
Let the blue return to your eyes my queen
Consult the moon to change your tides,
And you may by chance shock us to our senses
A poem of deep sadness and hurt, but finding hope and light in the end. Let the blue return to your eyes.....
unleash your anger to a proper degree, perhaps some will take note.....I liked this bit of expression!
This is a moving, beautiful poem, with all the profundity of the ocean in its imagery. How right you are in all you say. Well done!
