Letters



she wrote, wrote, wrote
anything and everything
a few rhyming words here and there
hoping that maybe some day, at some time
someone would find them
hoping that maybe someone would understand them
a line on a wall, table, scrap paper
anything

she just needed to get them out
that's what she told herself
but truly, she needed others to read them
so these random lines, words, letters
would have meaning
would help, maybe change someone
that they would mean as much to someone else as they did to her

to many they were just letters, forced together
to others they were words
to some they were meaning
to few they were change
when she left, she thought nothing was left behind
no mark, no print, she was no one
but she was and she did
she left letters, words, meaning, change
that's something, something important
right?

if only she had known
...
