Letting Go Poem by Cindy Rheeder

Letting Go

I close my eyes
And see your smiling face,
Oh God I’ve been this lost for quite a while,
And I doubt that this is the time or place,
To ever admit that I fell for you,
Because I know you’ve never felt this too.
I’ve been unrequitedly in love with you for a while,
You can make me laugh or cry and even smile,
And lately my mind’s a mess,
And it’s time to confess,
I have to let this go,
Because you will never know,
How it feels to feel this deep,
And how you make my heart leap.
I close my eyes,
And feel millions of tingling butterflies,
Oh God I’ve been unrequitedly in love with you,
And I know you’ll never feel this way too…
I close my eyes,
And tell myself this silly lies,
That I’ll let you go,
That you need not know.
