Life Poem by Geeta Pupala

Life

Rating: 5.0

I often try to figure out why God gave us this life,
When it's only full of sorrow, trouble and strife.
We keep seeing mirages, trying to fulfil empty dreams,
But are in for a shock, coz things are not as simple as they seem.
Sometimes life is so unfair,
We can do nothing but cry out in despair
We lose the ones who to us are most dear,
Then cling on to memories, shed silent tears.
I often feel that all that I do is meaningless,
No one seems concerned, no one even cares.
People are too busy to lend a helping hand,
When you laugh, they laugh with you
But cry and alone you stand.
Life has got its ways of hitting back at you,
Along the smooth road of joy, sorrow, round the corner, awaits you.
But still it goes on endlessly, like a vast ocean,
Full of waves, up and down, always turbulent and in motion.
Since we have this precious gift, we must make the most of it,
Cheer a sad friend, help somebody out, and do our own small bit.
Only then will the dreams be realised,
The darkness will fade, a new day will begin,
And the world will be a better place, for you and me to live in.
