Life As A Stage Poem by Ian Jay Bantilan

Life As A Stage

Life is but a theater; we have our own stage
As each moment start, we turn a new page,
Some will be given their lines for the script
While others will choose their own part to portray

One's role might have been to play as a Father
For another it seems to play as a Child
For others it seems to push us a'farther
With knowledge, meekness and training for a while.

Often we make, much of our differences,
It drives us to feel distant and apart;
While mentors share wisdom and point to our essences
To bind us together as they touch our heart.

Take warning then, life is not a dress rehearsal
You definitely have to know your part.
For what is spoken, there is no reversal
Your truest voice is one that comes from the heart.

Choosing a mask may fool the audience
Beware in the end, you may lose your conscience.
Let your expression be true to your voice.
The light of the heart is reflected in a choice.

Crafty the villain may lead to disaster,
The hero to face, and force him to master,
And though we may loath the heart of the villain
Our stories be bland, so empty without him.

We are all actors in this game of life
There is no script, you ought to improvise.
It is best to remember, we're all on this page
Life is a theater; we all share the stage.
