Life is Not Random

Life is not random
when each fall
takes us higher
than ourselves.

Words unspoken
from Beyond
burst in as echoes
from our shelves

where if raised up -
when nothing's left,
expose the thing
we may detest

that we are not
our very own
nor count our steps
to the unknown.

There, Greater Love
within each sense
replaces fear
with confidence,

that we, so small
may choose to know
the One who holds
each thought,
each breath,

and every heart beat
at its worst,
within His hand
is at its best.
