Life's Lie Poem by Michelle Dickson

Life's Lie

Rating: 5.0

Look in the mirror
and you will see
a face that is not who it was meant to be.

This face is one of happiness
this face is one of life
but this is not my face
but a lie.

My real face is one of pain
my real face is one of fear
my real face is one of anger
my real face you cannot see here.

My real face is being masked
behind a wall of happiness and life
where no one will see
the pain cause from thee.

You all have looked over my pain
and thought I was fine
but what you do not see
will cause my death
for I will not live a lie.

My pain is one many have known
but yet few have ever seen it.
My pain exists all around us.
My pain is probably something you know well.
My pain is called lonliness
and it, on earth, is my hell.

Know this now
and find the signs
and help someone find
what was rightfully mine.

It is too late for me now
the damage is done.
Do not worry about this broken soul
for I will find
what is rightfully mine
within the walls of hell
for that is where I will go after I die
because my life was a lie.

Very deep and at the end very dark...niece piece of poetry.
