Life’s Lotto Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

Life’s Lotto

Rating: 5.0

(Warning: Some readers may not like
the persona of this theme as expressed.)

Seventeen
and sentenced
condemned
slandered
as not industrious?

Boy defaced
accused
you aren’t no man
some sorry wilted wimp
can’t stand no ground?

Freaks wouldn’t give you
torn toilet paper
used to wipe ass.
Even if bout begging
for stake job you asked.

No way back
no where to go...
high school
drop-out...
to jail you wilt go.

Incarceration completes
degradation default
completes
an education
destitute can freely attend.

No charge.

“There but for the grace of God
go thee and me.”
