Lifeline Poem by Weldon Davis

Lifeline

The rain washes over
Cooling my conscience
And I
For once am at peace
With all the non-sense
Including my own

Yes
I still become negative
Yes
My thoughts still roam
At times

So I write rhymes
In the night time
It has been
Will always be
My lifeline
Towing me back to sanity
Every time I go
Overboard
