Light Shaft

Think some fog has lifted
Just can't keep trippin'
No, I won't live a life drippin' my soul
Around
Waiting for a bucket to catch my falling drops of blood
Salty tears mixed into the blood

Think the fog has lifted
Now I have a clearer view
I have a vision of us
And then someone, not you

The light is shining
Upon me, shining
The heavy darkness of my matter
Is gone for good

Have the messages to prove it
Have the history all typed up
No escaping
What I've been feeling
All along

Just confronted
By my reality
Shaken me
Waiting to see if I will give in to bleed

Oh no
I've got friends who tell me so
Oh no
No caving in to bleed

It's not worth the dirty deeds
Oh no
They've supported me
And taught me straight

No pranks or illusions
Just told me straight

And so the fog has lifted
And the glorious lights shine through

Illuminating
Illuminate me

Know the difference
And be what you do see

Be the difference
And know you'll always be with me

See a difference
Feel it through and through

The difference you've ignited
Shining so true

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
