Like A Cutting
Like a cutting
Of a treasured plant
That has rooted.
Like a seed
Bursting through the soil
like a butterfly
Emerging from it's cocoon.
Like a fledgeling leaving
The nest
For the first time.
Like a babe's first step
Or his first word.
just as all these wondrous things
Thrill the soul.
This same exhiliration
Remains.
Everytime
I see your smile.
