Like A Vampire (Love Bleeds Us Dry) Poem by Justin Gildow

Like A Vampire (Love Bleeds Us Dry)

Rating: 5.0

Sitting back to back against each other
In this darkened room
With the only light we can see
Shining down from above
Shining down on top of us
Us as lovers

Like a vampire
Love bleeds us dry
Love drains us, darling
That's a simple fact of life

You touch my hand so gently
As you talk to me
Talking about life
Talking about love
Talking about many things

Yes we're lovers
But like a vampire
Love bleeds us dry
Love drains us
And there's nothing you or I can do
As we're twisted up in each other
As we're wrapped up in each other
Wrapped up in our own love desire
Our life source is draining
The essence is bleeding
But we don't care
We're in love
We have each other
Love is enough for the time being
Enough for you
Enough for me
Even if love bleeds us dry

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

a little more somber than your other poems but very true, 'love does bleed us dry' 'that's a simple fact of life' but in the final analysis 'Love is enough for the time being Enough for you Enough for me Even if love bleeds us dry ' expressed so well
