between the lines are words
you have to be aware
some say the truth is there
my thoughts are washed and fresh
hung on - my drying underwear
These words are extremely true. Think about a poet as Umberto Saba. Now I'm reading 'Instincts and their vicissitudes' by Freud (1915, in 'Metapsychology') . Also that matter has to do with this. This poem is very sensual.
conceals the vital part and reveals only the periphery, howsover between the lines you read, you will still be brooding over the personal symbols, ,
i love the simplicity and economy of your worl, also the thoughtfulness in every line. Rogx
Here’s my new comment two years after the previous. What a prudent I was! I was hidden by Mr. Saba and Mr. Freud. Now I can notice something hung on and drying underwear. In PH, my last poem is Last Waltz in Genoa. My previous inspiration was the movie Last Tango in Paris. So Paul tore the Jeanne’s collant and standing embraced her. The lingerie’s problem has been placed on file: its end is in my last dance and not in that movie. To tell as Onelia, the underwear is washed now. I’ve managed this issue writing some Odysseas in Italian and those are other stories.
Cute playful poem depicting pretty smalls daintily flapping in the breeze! HG; -) xx
I'd like to linger on your thoughts a whilst longer.. find some string to peg some Gs.. and net some fish to line for smoking..: ~)) .
The poem is well applauded because it is indeed good. It alludes to much while cleverly leaving just as much to the imagination... And poet's imaginations are extremely fertile... Rgds, Ivan
