I sit in the middle of a crowd,
Yet I am alone.
I hear the world talk,
Yet my words are silenced.
I am visible to all,
Yet no one can see me.
I listen, listen, and listen some more,
Yet no ears for me.
I smile, sympathize with you,
Yet yearn to be understood.
I am strong and wise,
Yet only if you knew.
I don’t need your sympathy,
Yet all I need is not to be judged.
(For) I am no God,
Yet just a human waiting to be heard.
