Words have fallen on deaf ears for too long
You need to know
Know that you are with me
And I hate you -
I miss you
I must move on
You said your goodbyes
You shed your tears
You never heard mine
Never did I say goodbye
But the tears - oh, the tears!
So hard to let go
My safety net
The inside of me
Still in love
And I thought time heals all
Maybe I was wrong
For wanting you - needing you
Maybe I didn't grieve properly
The death of us
But, what was 'us? '
Those nights of intimacy
Oh, and I know you remember
Our hearts burned and we were one
We were one love
Time has robbed us
A dice roll and it was over
The last grain of life dropping our hour glass
