Little Girl On The Beach Poem by Gert Strydom

Little Girl On The Beach

(after Analisé Carstens)

The sea washing in and out enchants the little girl,
while she can feel the streams between you and me,
when she looks at you her eyes is far past cobalt blue.
She picks up a shell and watches a crab scattering away
and digs a small furrow to keep the see out,
with a mother of pearl shell she builds a castle out of sand,
other precious things she clings to in her hand,
which childishly and naive she holds out for us to look at,
when she looks at me her eyes are far past cobalt blue.

Childish and naive she holds out but life is precious that sea teaches. Her eyes are far past cobalt blue. Story of little girl and sea is very amazingly and brilliantly penned.
