Liu Xiaobo Poem by Amala Comer

Liu Xiaobo

Rating: 4.3

He lived and died
in the shackles of the state,
one line that will define
his orchestrated fate.

Cancer, with Chinese characteristics.

To those with backs
against the Wall,
remember him
who stood so tall.
and heed another line
from long ago,

'Silence, like a cancer grows'.

Liu Xiaobo was a Chinese literary critic, writer, poet, anti-communist, human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who called for political reforms and was involved in campaigns to end Communist single-party rule. (Wikipedia.14/08/2017) . A brave warrior and a great loss to this world.
