Living But Not Yet Alive Poem by Jenny Edwards

Living But Not Yet Alive

Rating: 5.0

I'd rather die young and die while still alive
Than live a thousand years and die when dead.

I'd rather love one who can not love me,
Than live my life in fear of love instead.

I'd rather sing my song alone
than live in fear of singing at all

I'd rather jump and risk my life
than live in fear of a fall

I'd rather speak thruths which can not be believed
than trust in a world built on lies

I'd rather dream than live in a world
where dreams will break and all hope dies

I'd rather have a broken heart
Than have no heart at all

I'd rather live my life, I think.
And live it standing tall.

This is such a powerful poem of self inspection. I would rather do all of this too, than be the victim of a society that doesn't respect anything or anyone. You get a 10+ from me for this heartfelt and soulful poem. Thank you so much for sharing. Love & hugs, Barbara
