Living In Exile Poem by Daisy Pereira

Living In Exile

As you cant come and meet me
I shall come and meet you my love

I bear in my heart
all the past summers
bygone springs
autumns
fragrant flowers
of course tears
smiles and loves
little precious green moments
pink jewels of mornings
running moons
pacing suns
all the springing rains
I have embraced them in my soul
for ever
the divine light
that illuminated the sky
at rare eves
the deep silences
fills the earth
just before a thunder storm

Though I had wings to soar up
early in my childhood
I flinted them along my sides

Now that time has come up
I think I can soar up
right into the sun
without fear of getting burned up

Hence I can come to you and greet you
Death
my love!
