Lock And Key Poem by Randy McClave

Lock And Key

Rating: 5.0

I placed a lock upon my heart
As I had placed one upon my front door,
Now everyone must now first knock
No one is allowed to just walk in any more.
I am so tired and saddened of being used and hurt
By the people that I have loved and trusted,
So, like the lock upon my front door
It will remain upon my heart, until it is old and rusted.
To my lock there is now, but only one key
Which I will always keep guarded and well hidden,
Never again will a duplicate key ever be made
It will be strictly and consciously forbidden.
I hate a liar as much as I do a thief
As they steal your trust and belief with a grin,
So, into my house or into my heart
Neither type of person will ever again be allowed in.
I go to bed with all my worries and pain gone
Now I start looking and thinking all about,
A lock is a good thing to keep robbers and thieves away
But, a lock only keeps an honest person out.
