Lonely Night Poem by THEODOROS MANTAS

Lonely Night

Rating: 5.0

I cried until the night came for me.
I laughed to draw help.
Nobody was near
apart from the moon and the stars
but though I stared at them
our distance was huge
and there was not a bridge
leading directly to the sky.
Then I dined
with an old silent friend
but I don't know his name yet.
A woman's shadow
appeared on the wall
I picked the phone
I tried to make her a call
but it was so late
the candle had passed away.
Oh! I am so tired...
next time
I will talk at the fire in the fireplace
and I think it is high time
to plant flowers on my wall
and
to invite the moon to dine with me.
