Lonely Soul Of The Forgotten Child Poem by Tiffany Walters

Lonely Soul Of The Forgotten Child

I search for truth beyond the realm of the eye

I see the broken hearts and wounded souls of all those who pass me by....

I feel their pain as it were mine

Unbeknownst to them, our lives briefly intertwine.

A part of me is hardened by the violations I've seen

Love and Hate … floating somewhere in between

I've overcome much hardship, agony and pain

Yearning to be cleansed in a warm heavenly rain

Beatings, abuse, verbal assault … an unrecognizable face

What would my reflection reveal if It were born from a different place?

Someday my soul will find a warm quiet home in which to reside

For now, the pendulum still sways while a flicker of light dances inside

Fearing death, forgotten in my old age

A lonely verse written upon my life's final page

The truth is a fact which I can not deny
