Longings Poem by Denzil Straight

Longings

I long only to relax with you beside me always.
Never to part in all our glory.
Though love eternal never dies.
I know we someday must.
Love goes on forever, though life does not.
It is plain to see, forget me not.
For in you is me, in me is you.
Which is love true blue. From me to you.
That love in all its glory is you.
In skies of blue I see your face.
Shining and smiling down on me.
Your eyes not unlike diamonds
shining on black velvet.
Like stars in the blackness which is called 'Night.'
I call out your name and you are there beside.
Soothing me and comforting me when I hurt.
Bringing me up whenever I feel down.
I call out your name and you do not hear.
For now my love has gone away.
I call and call, yet you do not come.
I long once again for a love so true.
I ask all around, 'Where has my love gone? '
For in all this world there is none like you my love.
