Looking Through Your Eyes Poem by Lynn Grassette

Looking Through Your Eyes

Rating: 5.0

Found you in bed, with salt stained checks
Knew there were things you hadn’t told me
Focused my energy, prayed to see
The things you’ve been hiding so deeply

I saw so much through your eyes that night
More pain then you've been able to confide
I sat where you sit, cried the same tears
Felt the walls tumble, watched hope disappear

Stared at the ceiling, thinking of loss
I wonder how you even go on
The days in your world are bitter, cold
If I were you, I’d let it all go

This sounds like very traumatic content. The poetry is very good. Tight and rhythmic with clever use of language and transmits the atmosphere very effectively.
