Lost And Yet Found Poem by Shane Meritt

Lost And Yet Found

here and now is what to worry about.
not here to cry and shout.
these thoughts are all I can worry about.
I left with ambition and excitement.
came here for some enlightenment.
knowledge and training is what I sought.
no one understands the life I fought.
life is contradictory and full of lies.
where children cry and the good person dies.
we go on ignoring the death and pain.
we watch other live in fear with tears like rain.
yet I sit here accepting this free education.
so I don't become one of the men stationed.
I wish we could be better and not have hatred.
yet there is people that only see red.
I'm ok is what I say to everyone.
yet inside I feel as if I'm already gone.
then the was this woman young and sweet.
in a fight of hearts she had me beat.
I like her the second we talked.
around in circles we had walked.
chatting it up with one another.
yet all I saw was her hiding undercover.
these mental block she has placed up.
to prevent anyone getting close and messing her up.
she had no experience and was scared.
she worried that no one has ever cared.
I choose to show her how it should be.
yet I could get past her blocks.
its like hitting rocks with rocks.
I let her go and yet I cant leave.
I have fallen harder than I believed.
I'm scared ill get hurt if I stay around.
but I was lost and near her I am found.
