Lost In Denial Poem by Ray Tatenda Mutizwa

Lost In Denial

Rating: 5.0

to be distant from you
is to be nuts in an instant
the high fever in me is constant
having me to do this alone
is to make me loner and it can't be done

imagining life in your absence
is stripping me of all decency
that can only be kept in your presence
am now thrown in indolence
to everyone my conduct is insolence
this myself am too blind to notice
I have not been myself ever since you went
how can I be complete and whole
when my other half has been ripped from me
am now just an incomplete being

your sudden exit from our life
opened a wound so sore
pains and discomfort are now rife
daily the heat increases tormenting me the more

where are you that I may come
are you in that eternal city of Rome
safely ensconced in the basilica's dome
am pleading you pleas com home
