Lost Like This'

Oh, I remember,
Reading my poem about ' Baby Falak and Nirvaya'
in a poets' meet.
But I lost my poem there.
The poem could not see
The light of the day.

Why do
Poems are lost halfway?
Why do they lose track?

Did anybody
Throttle their necks?
Or, did any one
Shred their soft petals
In demonic darkness?

Why do
Beauty and innocence
Die before coming to full bloom
Or hang in the Cross?

I just simmer in burn
And think,
Ah, what more have I done
Than mere writing poems?

Man could not evolve in a man, he is still a beast. Shame on all of us. A touching poem.

The sexual attack on Baby Falak - a two year old baby girl and on 'Nirvaya' 23 years virgin of South Delhi was so brutal and inhuman. These incidents took place in 2012. Your poems in these events have been lost is really a matter of regret. Taking this theme you have weaved a beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.

Your concern is genuine. We write poems only that we love to write. Unless the poems stir the conscience of the people and guide them to work for the betterment of the society they just end up as an instruments of temporary joy. Such an eye opener poem.10+++++++++++

Poetry has much power. It has the power to change a society.Poem like 'Vande Mataram' could inspire nationalist movement in India.Epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat have impacted Indian culture for centuries. My desperation is like any sensitive poet when he sees that the maladies he wishes to change still continues to afflict the society.
