Lost Myself Poem by Prachi Agrawal

Standing before the mirror
While observing myself
I saw my image differed
And it was not myself

Somebody else
Had taken over me
My identity was trying to escape
It had lost control over me

On my face was a mask
Which had become my part
I tried to get rid of it
But it was already fixed

I searched every nook
And corner of my heart
In order to find myself
But it wasn’t an easy job
In a room full of mob

I failed to discover myself
That I had lost in the darkness
Now only left with tears
I had a doubt with fear
Were they real or artificial
