Lost Spring Sunshine Poem by Gee Cii Schnider

Lost Spring Sunshine

Whose tear was that?
Rolling down my cheek in
The Pitch Darkness?
I lay in the
Antechamber of hell
Like an orphan,
alone in agony
I thought I had ceased
to feel fear,
ceased to weep
Never shall I forget
those absent, the friends
of yesterday
Surely it was a dream
A whisper echoed out
“Don’t lose courage,
Drive out despair,
Muster your strength”
In vain
Many had lost sight of
the Spring Sunshine
of a supposedly tomorrow.
