Love 2 - Love A Treasure Trove Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Love 2 - Love A Treasure Trove

Rating: 5.0

A heart devoid
Of the magical emotion
‘LOVE':
Is like dried up earth,
Parched and fragmented,
A dead desert,
Without a patch of greenery,
A river without water
That gradually stops flowing,
When plants shrivel up
Into sticks without leaves;
Where trees stand like ghosts
Without any branches,
Frightening and alarming!

A life without love
uninspiring,
Unpleasant,
And tasteless:
Like bread without butter,
A pickle without salt,
A salad without greens,
A soup without liquid,
A cake without sugar,
A chocolate without cocoa,
An ice cream without ice,
Inedible, indigestible
Unpalatable
Unrequited!

A heart devoid Of the magical emotion ‘LOVE’ Is like dried up earth Parched and fragmented; A dead desert Without a patch of greenery; A river without water Verily, love is the water by which humanity survives and prospers............10

Thank you dr Geeta for this amazing description of Love as a magical emotion that not only can we live without but we also have to protect it against hate. If people were aware of this the world would be much better.

It is amazing how Love is described as a magical emotion that we not only can live without it, but also have to protect it against hate. Interesting comparisons to prove how love is important in life. If only people were aware of this life would be much better. Thank you so much dr Geeta

Geetaji, I thank you for sharing this beautiful poem. You inspire eternal love and peace in my heart. Most of my poetry is self indulgence and all of your spiritual writes are providence. You are an inspiration to us all.
