Love And Dying Doves Poem by Kevin Patrick

Love And Dying Doves

Rating: 5.0

Love is made of lies
And all of it countless friends
Fall like dying doves

For when you give your heart and soul
You must let the drawbridge down
There's no assurance in what will come
Sometimes hero’s but mostly villains

Once I saw a star
And with my bottle of wine
Made a drunken wish

Surrender all your inhibitions
Let in chance by rolling the dice
It hurts less when loosing calls
Then never learning from the price

Remember
For no man is an island
But every women is an ocean

Love the last stanza particularly and the last line, a great retort to the old adage of line 16. A prophetic and sage piece.
