Love And War Poem by Alison Harmer

Love And War

It has been said,
"All is fair in love and war."
How many have bled
To settle the score?

A double edged knife
Leaving scars that will last.
Until the end of life,
Evidence of the past.

Drunk with passion
Hurtful words are said.
Thinking without ration,
Hearts sink like lead.

Wounds can be sewn
No matter how deep.
I'm yours alone,
And you're mine to keep.
