Love In Disguise Poem by Obed dela Cruz

Love In Disguise

Rating: 5.0

You came in the form of a storm.
You washed away those huge houses
And have let mud enter this place.

For weeks, pure water was a need.
It’s not the time to waste food.
There’s no time to crack a bad joke.

But while I was thinking of you
And the things you’ve brought to this land
I knew that you’re love in disguise.

For so many years, we’re hardened.
It’s not wise to trust each other
But you’ve let us see that we care.

In that perilous hour
We gave our hands to the needy
And our resources to the poor.

Love, please stay and never leave us.
Let not death be the solution
Just to make us love each other.

I ask that you will grow in us.
Let us choose you instead of death
But I thank you for making us care.

hi obed! inspiring poem to all of us. though sometimes we have to ask, why those horrible things had to happens before we pour our love to each other. But the good thing is, we have that love to share. good one!

It is usual with human beings at the time of havoc and after, to learn to love one another. The disaster has brought out the love in them. It is an interesting piece.

I know just what you mean. We had a destructive storm here; unlike anything in memory, if ever before such a thing had happened. The storm marched on all day like a terrible monster, destroying all before it; everything not underground was ripped into shreds. And afterwards, the people drove around, in shock, to survey all the damage; and they were so courteous, so cautious THAT IT WAS A DIFFERENT WORLD suddenly, Obed, and though it did not make me wish for a weekly cataclysm; it made me feel that life is like a wound; and only when we are reminded of it again could we treat everyone as we ought to, with consideration and great gentleness. Thanks for your poem which allowed me to see the tragedy through your eyes and remember that I have seen the same, before..(smile)
