Love On The Dance Floor Poem by Patrick Millett

Love On The Dance Floor

I take your hand for a dance on the floor
You're in my arms and I want nothing more
I stare into your eyes as they shine like a star
Those beautiful sapphires so blue as they are
Holding you close and moving with the beat
Getting ready to entrance you and sweep you off your feet
The music slows down to a sweet romance
Everyone jealous of us at their first glance
I am to be yours and you're to be mine
Someday we'll be married if you give us the time
Falling in love with a girl with such beauty
Protecting your heart is becoming my duty
The music picks up but still a delicate tune
Someday my love will reach far beyond the moon
Please beautiful girl who I took on the floor
Promise you'll be mine for forever more
