Love's Glee Poem by David Nieketien

Love's Glee

For this calming peace
For weeks I seek
And for my missing rib
I've longed with keen
But now, I can speak of these
'Cos for what I seek
Her love will give
In a kiss of glee

And as I speak of this
You'll think I'm weak
But even a man off steel
Her lips will kill
For at a feel of it
Fresh air will seize
And if death beseech
Then so be it

There she is
So fine and chic
Oh! What a chic
Smart, soft and sleek
So eloquent: and so soft she speaks
She smiles and dimples adorn her cheeks
Pink lips and skin just like silk
With these what more is there to a queen

For this calming peace
For weeks I have wished
But now this glee is in my reach
What more can I say, please
Although I know to love is deep,
And that also true love is real
So i say what more is there to this
Than to follow this love into Love's endless pit.

The End
