Love's Secrets Poem by Sandra Feldman

Love's Secrets

Rating: 5.0

Love is strange,
And so unsettled,
As it flutters round your heart,
Like a free bird, once it's captured,
Sees its Liberty depart.

Love can also be a slavery,
If one sided from the start,
Painful thorns can damage gravely,
What was once a painless heart.

Love a feeling, never faintly,
That so many want to know,
It's the emotion that enhances,
Deepest passion, mystery flow.

This poem expresses the need for L-O-V-E to fulfill our human nature. We are meant to be lovers! The equation is simplicity itself: Me + You = Happiness (or at least - Fulfillment) . Love's Secrets, in that sense, are right out in the open. But I like your additional comments: first, identifying those loves which warp its nature, LOVE as slavery, LOVE as suffering. These things happen, and you are acknowledging them. And the last line indicates LOVE demands a degree of privacy because oF DEEPEST EMOTION, MYSTERY FLOW.

Your poem 'Love's Secrets' is simply superb! The depth that some of the lines carry may be unfathomable, unless read with a discerning eye. Like: 'Like a free bird, once it's captured, Sees its Liberty depart.' - When love is captured, its liberty departs, what a deep thought! 'Love can also be a slavery, If one sided from the start, Painful thorns can damage gravely, What was once a painless heart.' - Very absorbing thoughts! 'It's the emotion that enhances, Deepest passion, mystery flow.' - Every lover knows this so well! Wonderful reading, thanks! 10/10.
