Love's Silent Death Poem by Portia Lane

Love's Silent Death

There were too many words we left unsaid
Animosity filled the silent cracks
Like chicken pox animosity spread
Before the second hand made it around the clock

As even our whispers became more faint
The distance between us increased
What was once a lively relationship
Would soon become deceased

Silence! Though our pain was loud
Silence! Because neither of our prides would cave
Silence broken would leave one of us less proud
Silence led our love to an early grave
