Love's Vigilance Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Love's Vigilance

With great vigilance,
I shall become a fugitive of love
Running from that which is wrong
Into a flawed placement of truer dreams ahead

The sun shall shine even when gone
Fighting all even if I am portrayed wrong
My destiny waits with open arms
And I am ready to go home

Opened for unconditional love
A journey towards romance
Upon a night that shall shine
Even brighter than the sun

Ode to the hopeless romance
A destination crossing through
The source of a fiery beckoning
Rekindles the fires within my own visions

The hues of these eyes
See mountains of hope
Many colors, many shapes
Perspectives forming alas no more

Luck ahead
This heart soars
Higher in hope
Greater than ever before

I am a vigilant of love
Because I choose not to conform
To what society wants me to be
Adorned in my own ways, I am my own

Take me, leave me
I am fugitive on the run
Try catching me with your heart
Let us always have our fun

I am so proud to be flawed
The true essence of love
Is the truest freedom
Not one can ever take that away, from us

To us, not one soul
Could ever take our love

With great vigilance
We shall be fugitives of love
Partners in criminal intent
Stealing each other’s hearts every single day

And nights will always be ours
We are wanted by each other
The reward is the love we always shall share

Are you ready to break the redundant rules of love with me?

Vigilantes of love, our hearts shall always be on the run
