Love Sonnet 128: 'strong Aural Presence Of Our Love Pervades'

Strong aural presence of our love pervades
Our place of rendezvous despite the years,
The past, or the recall of it, invades
My peace with stark nostalgia that it bears;
Can we forget the rose pressed to your face?
When ants came out biting without decline,
Whereby I teased, care not to cry in case
Your tears could drown some baby ants in brine;
But with you back, what good are memories?
Come, leave the valley, see beyond the ridge,
See how the waters meet up with the seas
Soon after they have passed below the bridge;
.......The past only recounts events long dead,
.......The future stores these very much ahead.
