Love Sonnet 46: 'My Love Sent Me A Song So Soft And Sweet'

Rating: 3.5

My love sent me a song so soft and sweet,
Like melody that lulls babies to sleep,
That hints of angels in their dreams to meet,
Assured in cradle of a mother's keep;
Like breeze that wafts, each note would float about,
Amid the scents pervading forest glades,
Where sun would smile to flowers in its route,
And moon peeps through when night has drawn its shades;
In countless sighs, my heart recalls her touch,
Conveyed by lilting keys till tempo dropped,
Though distance crops the feeling by so much,
But, only after all the singing stopped;
.....The song, now in my heart, constantly plays,
.....As long as dreams are dreams, therein it stays.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My lady love from across the seas sent me a song through the internet. And although so many songs she sent, one was of more particular interest. But the mere fact alone that she sends things the way she does, bespeaks of tenderness and caring. The 'glades' which symbolizes the window out of an overpowering cover, (the glades are clear areas in forests where low vegetation may grow, flowers, shrubs and the like) is where the sun could be seen in the day and the moon when in its waxed phases, during the night.

The song will continue on and on Till the day my cheek upon your heart will rest upon. And in the silence our hearts resonate In unison one song to celebrate
