On this auspicious day I have something to say
About you, my dear dear dad,
About how lucky I feel with joy and thrill
To be your loved lad.

The sacrifices you made and the words you said
All i fondly hold,
Thanks to your toiling hand, I am today where I stand.
It's your upbringing that made me bold.

You had to stay afar, missing me, sis and her
Only to keep us happy,
Ignored own needs, to meet those of your kids,
While enjoying their success vicariously.

A man of high morals with a heart of pearls,
You are father of a proud son,
You are full of lives with jovial mood and good vibes
To be with you is sheer bliss and fun.

I have some close buddy but none closer than you, daddy.
Such son-dad friendships might be few.
Father, bless me then that I become a good citizen
And an ideal father like you.
