Lovely Parakeet Poem by Macwolls Kay

Lovely Parakeet

Lovely Parakeet, Parakeet of the Sun,
Of all the birds I love to watch,
She's the finest and prettiest of all,
Loud and squawky but graciously refined,
She mimics my moves and makes me laugh,
Her golden wings, brilliantly dazzling.

But then one day she broke her wing and fell from the sky,
What a delight to take her home,
She sang for me for a week and a half,
But just when her wing was healed,
She flew away and never returned.
