The burning sun,
Hanging high in the sky,
Still the gravestone soddens,
With the tears from her eyes,
Laid there a lover,
Not like Romeo or Antony,
Just a common caring bower,
Everyday faced her tyranny
Know they each other
For a while,
And love started to hover,
In his heart and his eyes
Stealing moments with her,
Was all he wanted,
But not was he a lucky lover,
Just spent the nights daunted
Alone walked his path,
Yearned her company,
Eyes in tears bath,
Kept earning his penny
While dreams gave him reason
to smile,
She would be with him, love him
but just for while,
Then the sun washes the night off,
Dreams shatters, sleep over
And the smile went off
He would pray God for a wish,
Can he sleep forever for this,
Then dream would never last,
And he will be with her till last.
So one day fire of fate,
Enveloped a little house,
A cry of child stuck the gate,
While lover passed by house.
To save the child,
Ran he into the towering flame,
But the fire was too wild,
Burnt his body and all his pain.
Death took his way to the lover,
And put him to sleep forever,
We buried him but unaware was she,
Epitaph said, 'Love but never loved was he'.

A narrative love poem well articulated and beautifully penned. Within the bliss of love, sometimes lays tragedy. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
