Lover Sea Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Lover Sea

Numb like burned out prairie
Nothing seems too reach
Only the sea seems to be my lover
Awakened mermaids swim without war
Angelfish shine like blue Venus
Along the shore childhood
Some strange hope not stepped on
Some innocent prophesy

I am dreary
Overloaded with man and time
Let me see and hear seagulls
Let the tides roll
Edna St.Vincent Millay knew
Eugene O’Neil said
“He felt alive by the sea”

Someone take me home
Let the seagulls be poems
The wild flowers on rocks
The glorious tide my music
The islands my laughter
Moon over the sea
I need too dream
Foghorns like hope
Ancient mariners
Ships like ghost
Shells like dawn

The sea holds me like a lover

There are so many visuals in this poem I admire. They give me the sense that you might sink until you can find her.
